Access Music Production CIC

Who we are . . .

Access Music Production CIC is a community interest company dedicated to empowering individuals through music. 


It provides accessible music production workshops, resources, and training to people of all ages and abilities, particularly focusing on those facing social, economic, or physical challenges. By fostering creativity and self-expression, the organization helps participants develop confidence, technical skills, and a sense of community. 


Access Music Production CIC often collaborates with local organisations and funders to reach a broad audience across the northeast region. Its inclusive approach ensures that everyone, regardless of background or experience, can explore their musical potential using music technology.

Our aim . . .

To provide benefit to people who are currently under-represented in the music industry in the Northeast of England, who: 


  • Work in the field of music production 
  • Aspire to work in the music industry in a music production related role 
  • Wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in music production 
  • Are engaged in music production education 
  • Would benefit from access to additional opportunities to improve routes into further education and/or employability

What we do . . .

Working with partners and funders, we provide opportunities for disadvantaged / under-represented groups in the music industry through a bespoke programme of activities that includes:     


  • Developing music production skills to further skills in music creation
  • Personal and career development opportunities   
  • Opportunities to participate in mentoring programmes with music industry professionals   
  • Developing leadership and enterprise skills

How this benefits the community . . .

  • People from under-represented / disadvantaged groups will have access to an innovative programme of music production activities that will help to raise the aspirations and opportunities of individuals in accessing work in the industry. 


  • Enable under-represented / disadvantaged groups to acquire new skills and knowledge in technical aspects of recording, mixing, and mastering of music products.


  • Promoting social inclusion by removing inequalities for individual people who are predominantly from low income backgrounds and do not have the same life chances as their more privileged peers.


  • Provide safe spaces for marginalised groups to come together for self-help, support and information exchange. 


  • Develop discrete campaigns around gender equality in the music industry 


  • Develop case studies of good practice to support diversity for circulation throughout the sector. 


  • Developing a more skilled and suitably qualified workforce - People will gain confidence, and self-esteem alongside leadership and enterprise skills. They will have opportunities to mentor their peers and be involved in the delivery of training, awareness raising workshops. 


  • Disseminating learning to the wider community through the organisation of community events, presentations in schools, media articles


  • Developing new partnerships with local businesses, community organisations.
