OVERVIEW

As part of our workshop offer for women aged 35 years and over, based in the northeast of England, we are putting on a 1 day workshop on using Ableton Live to record, programme, edit and mix your music.  

We will be going through a basic introduction to the features of this DAW as well as guiding you through a task to implement these skills in small groups.

The workshop will take place at Blank Studios in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and be delivered by music producer, Hattie Murdoch. The workshop has been specifically designed to cater for women over 35 years old, a minority group in terms of representation in the local music industry.  

The aim is to give you confidence and knowledge to support your music making at home using the Ableton Live software, so we will also be going over the equipment and setup/environment that you will need at home to achieve the best results.  

The workshop will be an opportunity to ask all the questions you'd like to ask about how Ableton works in a safe and supportive environment, practice these skills with support from Hattie and your peers, and to connect you with like-minded people to widen your network of music makers in the region. 

The workshop is open to women, over 35 years old, who are interested in learning about making music using Ableton Live - there is no requirement for previous experience (just a desire to learn), and there is definitely no upper age limit!

Hattie Murdoch is a professional songwriter, producer, topliner, vocalist and artist based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She specialises in creating and working with artists in the pop, folk, electronica and dance genres and her credited work has amassed well over 2.5 million Spotify streams.
